Troops of the Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP) have recovered the body of a man killed by suspected gunmen along a road in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Security sources said personnel of Sector 5, Bokkos, were mobilised at about 9:45 a.m. on June 15, 2026, following a report of a suspicious object along the Butura Kampani–Mandung road.
On arrival at the scene, troops reportedly discovered the body of a man later identified as Mr. Dasharo Haruna of Maihakorin Gold Village in Bokkos Local Government Area.
The remains were subsequently evacuated by the Keystone Bokkos Division for further necessary procedures.
Authorities said investigations have commenced to determine the circumstances surrounding the killing, while the area has been secured to prevent any breakdown of law and order.
Security operatives added that efforts are ongoing to maintain peace and track those responsible for the attack.
