Former Republic of Ireland goalkeeper Shay Given has married his longtime partner, Rebecca Gibson, after a 12-year engagement.
The 50-year-old football pundit exchanged vows with Gibson at Westminster Abbey in London on Saturday, October 10, 2026, in a ceremony attended by family and friends.
Given looked stylish in a tuxedo, while his bride wore an elegant wedding gown designed by New York-based designer Tom Sébastien.
Their daughters, Gracie and Cassie, served as bridesmaids alongside Sienna, Given’s daughter from his previous marriage to Jane Cunningham. Given also shares a son, Shayne, with his former wife.
Following the ceremony, the newlyweds celebrated with an after-party at the Hotel Café Royal in London.
Given and Gibson reportedly met in 2013 while she was working in public relations. The former goalkeeper proposed to her in 2015 during a trip to Los Angeles, and the couple subsequently welcomed two daughters together.
Given enjoyed a distinguished football career, representing several English Premier League clubs, including Newcastle United, Manchester City, Aston Villa, Stoke City and Blackburn Rovers. He made 451 appearances in the English top flight before retiring from professional football.
Since retiring, Given has established himself as a football television pundit, working with media organisations including BBC Sport.
The couple’s wedding marks the end of their long engagement and the beginning of a new chapter in their relationship.
