Nigeria’s Ezekiel Nathaniel has stormed into the final of the men’s 400m hurdles at the 2025 World Athletics Championships after winning his semi-final race on Wednesday with a time of 47.47 seconds.
The 22-year-old etched his name in history as only the second Nigerian to ever qualify for the final of the event at the global championship. The first was Henry Amike, who achieved the feat at the 1987 edition in Rome, Italy.
Nathaniel will now aim for glory in Friday’s final as he seeks to become the second Nigerian to secure a medal at the ongoing championships, following Tobi Amusan’s silver medal win on Monday.
