Sean “Diddy” Combs’ projected release date from federal prison has been moved forward again, with the music mogul now scheduled to leave prison on January 21, 2028.
According to records from the U.S. Federal Bureau of Prisons cited by multiple media outlets, Combs’ latest release date replaces the previous date of February 5, 2028. His projected release date has changed several times since he began serving his sentence.
Combs is currently serving a 50-month federal prison sentence at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey after being convicted in 2025 on two counts of transporting people across state lines for prostitution. He was acquitted of the more serious charges of sex trafficking and racketeering.
His initial projected release date was in 2028, but subsequent adjustments have moved the date forward and backward several times. The latest change makes January 21, 2028 his earliest projected release date so far.
The specific reason for the latest adjustment has not been publicly explained.
