Senior Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor, Ossai Ovie Success, has advised internet personalities Peller and Jarvis to protect their individual assets by signing a prenuptial agreement following their legal marriage.
In a statement shared on social media, Ossai congratulated the couple but expressed concern over what he described as the speed of their relationship, arguing that marriages involving wealth, fame and a significant online presence require careful planning.
According to him, a prenuptial agreement is essential for public figures as it helps define ownership of assets such as businesses, brand deals, gifts, houses and vehicles, thereby reducing the likelihood of future disputes or external interference.
“When two public figures come together, everyone will have an opinion on their money, gifts, houses, cars and brand deals. A prenup settles that before outsiders can scatter it,” he wrote.
Ossai noted that both Peller and Jarvis have established careers and personal brands, adding that a legal agreement would help protect their respective futures while allowing their relationship to thrive.
He stressed that signing a prenuptial agreement should not be viewed as planning for divorce but rather as a sign of maturity and mutual respect.
“Signing a prenup doesn’t mean you’re planning divorce. It means you’re planning the marriage like adults. You’re saying, ‘I love you, and I also respect both our futures,'” he stated.
The governor’s aide also expressed disappointment over the pace at which the couple’s relationship progressed, saying he hoped that legal advisers and family elders had guided them through important decisions before the wedding.
“In this generation, people rush in, post love, collect gifts, then six months later we’re seeing breakup TikToks. So I really hope, behind the cameras, lawyers and elders sat them down and did the right thing,” he added.
Despite his reservations, Ossai congratulated the newlyweds and prayed for a successful marriage, expressing hope that their union would be built on both love and sound judgment.
