Davido has revealed that his greatest fear is not knowing the right time to retire from music, saying he regularly prays for the wisdom to step away before his legacy is diminished.

Speaking during a recent interview, the Afrobeats star said he hopes to avoid remaining in the industry beyond his prime, stressing that he does not want to tarnish the reputation he has built over the years.

Davido pointed to Portuguese football legend Cristiano Ronaldo as an example, noting that despite the remarkable achievements of the five-time Ballon d’Or winner, he still faced criticism during the World Cup.

The singer, who described Ronaldo as a good friend, said the experience reinforced his desire to leave the music industry at the right time.

“My biggest fear is not knowing when to quit music. Look at Ronaldo; he’s my good friend, by the way. After everything he’s done for football, they still laughed at him during the World Cup. I pray to God every day to show me the right time to pack it up, so that I don’t use one small thing to spoil it,” Davido said.

The award-winning artiste’s comments have sparked conversations among fans about longevity in the entertainment industry and the challenge many successful performers face in deciding when to end their careers.
