Superstar footballer Cristiano Ronaldo marked the start of his 25th professional season with a goal as Al Nassr secured a comfortable 4–0 victory over Al Riyadh in the Saudi Pro League on Friday.
Ronaldo, 41, started the match on the bench after new Al Nassr manager Ange Postecoglou opted to rest the Portugal captain.
Al Nassr had already established a commanding 3–0 lead before Ronaldo was introduced in the 62nd minute. Abdulelah Al-Amri, Ângelo Gabriel and João Félix were on the scoresheet for the home side.
Ronaldo completed the rout seven minutes before full time, calmly converting Aiman Yahya’s low cross from close range to make it 4–0.
The goal took Ronaldo’s career tally to 977, bringing him closer to the remarkable 1,000-goal milestone.
It was also his 130th goal for Al Nassr in all competitions since joining the Saudi Arabian club in December 2022.
