Court Reserves Ruling on Blessing CEO’s Bail Application in Alleged N36m Fraud Case

The Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, presided over by Justice D.I. Dipeolu, has reserved ruling on the bail application filed by social media influencer and relationship therapist, Okoro Blessing Nkiruka, popularly known as Blessing CEO.

The ruling was adjourned to Tuesday, June 9, 2026, after counsel to both parties adopted their arguments before the court.

Blessing CEO is standing trial on a two-count charge filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Lagos Zonal Directorate 1, bordering on alleged obtaining by false pretence and stealing involving the sum of N36 million.

She was arraigned on May 15, 2026, over allegations that she fraudulently obtained the money from a petitioner under the guise of securing a property lease in Lekki, Lagos State.

At the resumed hearing on the bail application, lawyers representing the prosecution and defence presented their arguments before the court, after which Justice Dipeolu reserved ruling.

The court subsequently fixed Tuesday, June 9, 2026, for its decision on whether the defendant will be granted bail or remain in custody pending trial.

The case has continued to attract public attention given the profile of the defendant and the nature of the allegations, while judicial proceedings are expected to continue in due course.
