A Magistrate Court sitting in Ogba, Lagos State, has ordered the remand of controversial social media personality Ademola Abiodun, popularly known as DJ Chicken, over allegations of threatening the life of Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu.

DJ Chicken was arraigned before Magistrate M.F. Onamusi on Friday on a three-count charge bordering on alleged threat to kill, conduct likely to cause a breach of the peace, and offences under the Cybercrime (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act, 2015.

According to the prosecution, the charges stem from a video the defendant allegedly shared on social media in which he made threatening remarks against Seyi Tinubu while commenting on the 2027 presidential election.

The prosecution told the court that the statements contained in the video amounted to a death threat, contrary to the Criminal Law of Lagos State and the Cybercrime Act.

When the charges were read, DJ Chicken pleaded not guilty to all counts.

The court subsequently granted him bail in the sum of ₦1 million with two sureties in like sum.

Magistrate Onamusi ruled that one of the sureties must be a government employee, while the other must be a recognised community leader who owns landed property in Lagos State. The court also directed that both sureties provide evidence of three years’ tax clearance, Lagos State Residents Registration Agency (LASRRA) identification, National Identification Number (NIN), and recent utility bills. In addition, one of the sureties must be a blood relative of the defendant.

Pending the fulfilment of the bail conditions, the court ordered that DJ Chicken be remanded at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre.

The case was adjourned until August 3, 2026, for further proceedings.
