U.S. Congressman Riley M. Moore has met with a high-level Nigerian government delegation led by the National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, in Washington, D.C., to discuss rising concerns over alleged persecution of Christians and ongoing terrorist threats in Nigeria.
The meeting centred on security cooperation, counterterrorism support, protection of vulnerable communities, and broader efforts to curb the wave of violence affecting several regions of the country. Nigerian officials detailed the government’s challenges in responding to terrorist attacks, improving security assistance, and safeguarding citizens amid persistent unrest.
Congressman Moore reaffirmed the United States’ commitment to working closely with Nigeria to end the killings, stressing that President Trump’s administration views the continued targeting of Christians and other religious groups as unacceptable.
He issued a stern warning that the U.S. government would not overlook the situation.
