The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has again increased the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), marking the third price adjustment within one week.
The refinery announced the new price to marketers on Monday, raising the gantry price of petrol to ₦1,175 per litre from ₦995 per litre announced last Friday.
The latest adjustment represents an increase of ₦180, or about 18.1 percent, within three days.
In addition, the refinery revised the gantry price of Automotive Gas Oil, popularly known as diesel, to ₦1,620 per litre.
The development comes shortly after the refinery increased its PMS price to ₦995 per litre from ₦874 at the weekend. The successive hikes have contributed to rising pump prices across Nigeria, with petrol now selling above ₦1,000 per litre in many parts of the country.
