Femi Otedola
The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Forte Oil, Mr. Femi
Otedola, is set to run for the governorship seat of Lagos state under
the Peoples Democratic Party platform.
According to well informed source who spoke to The Boss Newspaper, the billionaire oil magnate may pick the PDP ticket anytime from now.
Femi Otedola accepted to run for the governorship seat of the Lagos
State under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) after he
was offered the ticket by the main opposition party in Nigeria.
Otedola, who has not initially shown any interest to run for the
governorship office, at least for now because he wouldn’t want to
challenge his friend and brother, Ambode for the seat, may have changed
his mind following the crisis rocking the emergence of Ambode as APC
candidate.
Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode has recently come under fire by a group loyal
to APC national leader, Asiwaju Tinubu, saying he must be dethroned for a
former commissioner in the state, Mr. Babajide Sanwoolu.
A cross section of respondents told The Boss that the son of a
former Governor of Lagos State, who has carved a niche for himself in
the business world, has the capacity to turn the state around and
improve on whatever work former governors have put on the ground.
Otedola will therefore, in the long run square up against whoever
the All Progressives Congress (APC) throws up as its party candidate as
it is still embroiled in battle of supremacy between the loyalists of
Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and the incumbent governor, Akinwunmi Ambode.
