Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has appointed Mr. Li Zhensheng, a Chinese national, as Economic Adviser to the state government.
The announcement came during the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the China Global Promotion Cooperation Research Centre in Bauchi.
The partnership aims to position Bauchi as a hub for international cooperation, targeting investment and development in agriculture, education, healthcare, manufacturing, mining, oil and gas, and trade.
Under the agreement, Bauchi will establish a representative office in China to oversee projects and ensure timely delivery.
Governor Mohammed said the initiative aligns with the diplomatic framework between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Nigerian President Bola Tinubu, and is expected to attract foreign direct investment, create jobs, modernise infrastructure, and boost the state’s global profile.
Mr. Zhensheng, who chairs the China Global Promotion Cooperation Research Centre, pledged to mobilise resources for Bauchi’s economic transformation and deliver sustainable growth and better livelihoods.
