The All Progressives Congress (APC) has ridiculed the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), declaring that the opposition party has collapsed into ruins and lost the confidence of Nigerians.
APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, made the remarks in a statement on Monday while reacting to the outcome of the just-concluded bye-elections.
“The PDP has since fallen into ruins, and stands rejected by Nigerians. When its governors gather in their scanty numbers, one would expect them to have some shame and concentrate on how to resuscitate their terminally ailing party with a sense of urgency and responsibility,” Morka said.
He added that rather than seeking solutions, PDP governors prefer to make “frivolous and senseless allegations” against the ruling party.
Morka stressed that APC’s dominant victory in the bye-elections was proof that President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope policies were resonating with Nigerians and that the electorate had confidence in the ruling party.
“It is infantile and irresponsible for PDP governors to hail democracy where they won in the bye-election and decry democracy everywhere they lost,” he said.
According to him, the fortunes of the PDP or any other opposition party cannot serve as a measure of the credibility of Nigeria’s electoral process.
