The Anambra State Government has declared Friday, November 7, 2025, a work-free day for all civil servants in the state.
The directive, approved by Governor Chukwuma Soludo, aims to enable workers to travel to their respective communities and participate fully in the governorship election scheduled for Saturday, November 8, 2025.
The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Thursday, November 6, by the Head of Service, Mrs. Theodora Igwegbe.
According to the statement, the decision underscores the government’s commitment to promoting civic responsibility and ensuring a high voter turnout.
Mrs. Igwegbe described voting as a “vital civic duty and an essential contribution to good governance and democracy.”
She further directed all political appointees, permanent secretaries, and heads of ministries, departments, and agencies to inform their staff and ensure total compliance with the directive.
