Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has celebrated Nigerian chef and Guinness World Records holder, Hilda Baci, for her achievements in the culinary industry and for bringing recognition to the state.
Governor Eno received Baci at the Government House in Uyo, where he commended her determination, courage and adventurous spirit, which he said had contributed to her record-breaking achievements.
The governor described Baci’s success as an example of how determination and courage can help individuals overcome barriers and achieve remarkable feats.
“You have made us proud in this state. You have made the world to know that determination and courage can help individuals to break barriers and achieve remarkable feats,” Eno said.
He urged the chef, who hails from Nsit Ubium Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom, to continue representing the state and taking its name to greater heights.
Baci gained international recognition after her 2023 cooking marathon, and in September 2025, Guinness World Records confirmed another record credited to her for producing the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice, weighing 8,780 kilogrammes.
Speaking during her visit, Baci also praised the governor for what she described as the pace of infrastructural development and the investment opportunities in Akwa Ibom.
She expressed particular admiration for the facilities at the Victor Attah International Airport and described the state as welcoming and attractive to visitors and investors.
The chef encouraged Akwa Ibom residents to promote peace, unity and love, saying these would contribute to the state’s continued development.
She also expressed willingness to support initiatives that could further promote the state and urged tourists and investors to explore its hospitality, recreational and investment opportunities.
