Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has pledged to expand developmental projects and deliver more dividends of democracy if re-elected for a second term in office.
The governor made the promise during the consultation and mobilisation tour of the Imole Campaign Council in Erin-Osun and Ilobu, both in Irepodun Local Government Area, ahead of the August 15 governorship election.
In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, Adeleke said his administration had fulfilled the major promises made to the people during the 2022 governorship campaign, assuring residents that even greater achievements lie ahead if given another mandate.
The governor thanked the people of the state for their continued support, recalling that he had promised to deliver good governance upon assuming office in 2022 and had remained committed to that pledge.
According to Adeleke, the people of Osun are yet to witness the full scope of his administration’s development agenda, adding that a second term would enable his government to consolidate on its achievements and implement more people-oriented programmes.
At the grand finale of the campaign rally in Ilobu, former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Lasun Yusuf, speaking on behalf of stakeholders in Irepodun Local Government Area, passed a vote of confidence in the governor’s administration and expressed optimism that Adeleke would secure victory in the August 15 election.
Traditional rulers in the area also declared their support for the governor’s re-election bid.
The Elerin of Erin-Osun, Oba Yusuf Adekunle, prayed for Adeleke’s successful re-election, expressing confidence that the people of Erin-Osun would once again entrust him with the mandate to continue the state’s development.
Similarly, the Olobu of Ilobu, Oba Ashiru Olatoye, assured the governor and members of the Imole Campaign Council of the community’s continued support, expressing confidence that voters in Irepodun Local Government Area would overwhelmingly back Adeleke’s second-term ambition.
The monarch also offered prayers for the governor, wishing him victory at the polls and the strength to sustain good governance and development across Osun State.
The Osun State governorship election is scheduled to hold on **August 15, 2026**, with **14 political parties fielding candidates for the contest.
