Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has warmed hearts after an encounter with a roadside puff-puff seller during a recent public event.
In a viral video, Adeleke was seen engaging the woman, who explained that she sold puff-puff to sustain her family. The governor, moved by her story, gifted her ₦50,000 on the spot. Reports also suggest that she has since been appointed as a chef at the Government House, though this is yet to be officially confirmed by the state government.
The gesture has sparked mixed reactions online. While many praised the governor’s act of kindness, others urged him to focus on sustainable governance.
Twitter user @ammy_brb7 wrote: “One day, God go just decide say E one bless you and nothing wey anybody go do about am! No be she go first start dey sell or hawk puff puff buh when God one bless her…see how Hin change her life!”
But @kingodds464878 countered: “I’m very happy for the woman ❣️ But this isn’t what we need from politicians. Build roads, make sure there’s electricity and make it affordable. Stop doing deceitful charities with our funds.”
Others, like @debo_A1, saw it as divine intervention: “See as God just pick this lady’s call. She just set out that morning as usual to go sell her puff puff without thinking of any having an encounter with a great personality. But here she is having an encounter that will change her life forever.”
