The Nigerian Army has opened online recruitment for skilled Nigerians as part of the 92 Regular Recruits Intake (92RRI).
The recruitment exercise is targeted at Nigerians with technical and specialised skills, including boat operators, marine mechanics, electrical and mechanical engineers, and other technical trades.
According to the Nigerian Army, online registration commenced on September 16, 2026, and will close on October 21, 2026.
Applicants must be Nigerian citizens by birth and meet the Army’s stipulated recruitment requirements. Candidates applying as tradesmen and women are also required to possess relevant Trade Test or City and Guild certificates.
The Army’s official recruitment portal states that tradesmen and women must not be more than 26 years old as of October 21, 2026, while applicants for non-trades positions must be between 18 and 22 years old.
Other requirements include possession of a valid National Identification Number (NIN) and Bank Verification Number (BVN), the required educational qualifications, a valid birth certificate or acceptable age declaration, and a certificate of state of origin.
Applicants must also meet the Army’s medical, physical and psychological fitness standards. Male candidates are required to be at least 1.68 metres tall, while female candidates must be at least 1.65 metres tall.
The Nigerian Army stressed that recruitment is completely free, warning prospective applicants against giving money or other forms of gratification to individuals claiming to facilitate the process.
There will be no pre-selection Computer-Based Test, while screening of shortlisted candidates will take place in their respective states of origin.
Shortlisted candidates are expected to participate in the state screening exercise scheduled for November 17 to December 1, 2026.
Interested applicants have been advised to complete their applications through the Nigerian Army’s official recruitment portal before the October 21 deadline.
