In swift and strategic operations, Nigerian Army troops have successfully rescued kidnapped victims from the grips of criminals in Taraba and Plateau States.
According to a statement released by Lieutenant Oni Olubodunde, the Acting Director of Army Public Relations, soldiers from the 6th Brigade of the Nigerian Army, operating under Operation Whirl Stroke in Taraba State, conducted a successful raid on a kidnappers’ camp in the Punkun area of Fikyu, Ussa Local Government Area. The operation, fueled by actionable intelligence, resulted in the dislodgement of the bandits’ stronghold and the rescue of several abducted individuals.
During the operation, the soldiers also recovered a significant cache of arms and ammunition, dealing a blow to the criminal activities in the region. Notably, one suspected kidnapper, identified as Dogo Manu, was apprehended during the operation, showcasing the military’s commitment to restoring peace and security in the area.
In a similar vein, Operation Safe Haven, a security task force operating in Plateau State, successfully rescued two kidnap victims during a patrol named “HAKORIN DAMISA IV” along Maraban Jama’a road in Jos Local Government Area.
Major Nantip Zakhom, spokesperson for Operation SAFE HAVEN, confirmed the rescue, stating that troops deployed to Bisichi promptly responded to a distress call regarding kidnapping activities. They intercepted a brown Peugeot vehicle and conducted a thorough search operation in the surrounding bushes, leading to the successful rescue of Mr. Abdul Bello and Miss Sekyen Melody Yapshak.
These rescue operations underscore the dedication and effectiveness of Nigerian security forces in combating criminal elements and ensuring the safety and security of citizens in the affected regions.
