A shocking incident unfolded at Laraba Abasawa in the Gezawa Local Government Area of Kano State, where worshipers were left injured after a man set a mosque on fire during the morning prayers, as reported by DailyTrust.
The community members had gathered for the ‘Subh’ prayer when the assailant carried out the attack. An anonymous member of the community recounted the harrowing ordeal, stating, “the man used petrol and ignited the fire while approximately 40 people were praying. He then locked the mosque, trapping those inside.”
The gravity of the situation escalated as those outside struggled to grasp the unfolding tragedy and mount a rescue effort. It took considerable time for bystanders to become aware of the incident and aid the victims in their desperate attempts to escape the engulfing flames.
Approximately 20 worshipers, sustaining severe injuries in the inferno, were promptly rushed to the Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital in Kano for urgent medical attention.
