As anticipation mounts, NuGroove Multimedia gears up to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Rhythm of Praise Festival, slated to take place on Sunday, March 24th, 2024, at the Ten Commandments Dwei Du in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The announcement came during an engaging session with journalists at the Conference Room of KC Hub in Jos, the capital of Plateau State. King Benny Bello, while addressing Journalist, revealed that amidst the backdrop of recent tragedies including the Christmas Eve killings in parts of Bokkos and Barkin Ladi Local Government Areas, violent attacks in Mangu Local Government Area, and prevailing economic challenges, the theme for this anniversary edition would be “Peace in the Storm.”
Inspired by 1 Thessalonians 5:18, King Benny emphasized the importance of gratitude and collective supplication, seeking solace and tranquility amidst turbulent times. Bello emphasized that Rhythm of Praise has transcended its musical origins to become a symbol of hope and catalyst for positive change, touching the lives of countless youths and individuals who have found mentorship and solace through its annual gatherings.
The star-studded concert will feature renowned artists including Panam Percy Pam, Ebuka Songs, Had, NuGroove, Pastor Jerry Ogbeba, the Jos Community Mass Choir, Gospel All Stars, and more, promising an electrifying experience for attendees.
Notably, the concert is open to all, with no gate fees, and shuttle buses will be provided at major locations within Jos for convenient transportation to the venue.
In support of the event, Cmr. Humphrey Iroegbu “Color,” Governor of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN), commended the initiative, highlighting its significance in promoting peace and unity in the state. He pledged the association’s full support for the festival.
Pastor Jerry Ogbeba underscored the importance of stakeholder engagement and synergy for the success of the event, emphasizing the need for collaboration to ensure a memorable celebration.
During the unveiling of the event, Mrs. Tina Percy Paul commended the organizers for their consistency and urged them to sustain the festival, recognizing Plateau State’s rich musical heritage and the global impact of its musical talents.
Speaking for the Fellowship of Gospel Music Ministers of Nigeria, Minstrel Jid, Chairman of the Plateau state Chapter, echoed the commitment to promoting excellence in gospel music, stressing the importance of events like Rhythm of Praise in uplifting the standard of gospel music production.
The Rhythm of Praise Festival, birthed in 2004 by Pastor Jerry Ogbeba and King Benny Bello, has evolved into one of the largest gospel music concerts in the Middle Belt and Northern Nigeria, showcasing the region’s cultural richness and musical prowess. Hosted by Fountain Music Bauchi and NuGroove Multimedia Jos, powered by Panam Music World, the festival continues to grow in scale and significance, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of attendees year after year.
