As Christians in Riyom Local Government join their counterparts around the world to celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Transition Committee Chairman of Riyom Local Government Council Sati Shuwa has called on citizens of the area to use the period to reflect on the teaching of their faith which centers on love, peace as well as good neighborliness.
The Council Chairman urged citizens in Riyom Local Government and Plateau State to see the significance of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ to show love to one another and be willing to make sacrifices for the greater unity, peace, and progress of Plateau State and Country in general.
He enjoined all believers to allow the significance of the celebration to reflect on their relationship with one another irrespective of their faith.
The Council Boss said citizens must eschew bitterness and all forms of violence because the progress, peace, and security of the nation rest squarely on good neighborliness and peaceful coexistence among Nigerians.
The Council Chairman felicitates with the Government of Plateau State under the leadership of the leader of the Time is Now and Executive Governor of Plateau State Barr. Caleb Mutfwang and the entire citizens of Riyom Local Government as they commemorate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
While assuring the citizens of the area of his administration’s commitment to execute projects and programmes that would uplift their standard of living, the Chairman appealed to them to hold fast their faith in the midst of the present security and socio-economic challenges, saying that they would eventually become a thing of the past.
