Businessman, Philanthropist and Politician, Chief Kefas Wungak Ropshik (aka) Kefiano laid his mother to rest in her home in Shendam.
Eminent Nigerians and top government functionaries, on Friday stormed Shendam local government council of Plateau state as Businessman, Philanthropist and Politician, Chief Kefas Wungak Ropshik, laid his mother to rest in her home in the Local government council .
The Governor of Plateau State, Barr Caleb Mutfwang, said the death of Rhoda Kopkung, the biological mother of Kefas Wungak Ropshik, was a loss for the entire state.
Our correspondent reports that Hon Kefas Ropshik contested the 2023 PDP party primary governorship with Mutfwang, and came closely second.
Governor Mutfwang who was represented by the Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly Rt Hon Gabriel Dewan empathised with the family.
In an address while appreciating sympathisers , Kefas, founder of Kefiano Autos , told the gathering that his late mom lived a fulfilled life.
“My mother stood for us, I’m what I’m today because she was firmed ,She taught us to live for people, she taught me the bound I have with numerous people.”
“Now, I have no mother no father, I’m now an orphan, but I am happy because I have you people, the love you have shown me is great, I won’t take it for granted; life is not just about having wealth, but the people, that which you have demonstrated.”
He stressed further that “one thing am sure of is that my mother is with Christ.” Kefas emphasized.
Delivering a sermon during an open air church service to usher her to her final resting place, Rev Yunusa Nmadu, a former General Secretary of ECWA, took his bible text from Psalms 16 verses 19 to 31.
The text is the popular biblical story of Lazarus and the unnamed rich man, whose riches prevented him from gaining heaven.
The guest preacher admonished Christians to rather seek the kingdom of God first , rather than pursue riches, according to the clergy,all mortal shall test death, and that heaven and hell is real.
Rev Nmadu paid condolences to the entire family and the entire ECWA church which lost a strong and faithful member in the person of Late Rhoda Kopkung.
Earlier, ECWA President Rev Dr Stephen Panya Baba, who led the delegation of clerics to the burial, in a condolence message encouraged the family to emulate the kind of life their late Mother lived.
The burial of Kefiano’s mother almost collapsed business activities in Shendam as people from all worth of life closed their business to attend the funeral.
Notable dignitaries include Sen Ali Attah , Hon John Dafan , member House of Representatives for Shendam Qua’an-Pan/Mikang federal Constituency; his Langtang North/South counterpart Bulus Vincent and Hon Musa Ashoms Commissioner for information.
Others are two former House of representatives Hon Timothy Golu , Hon Leo Delkon, the Transition committee chairmen of Shendam Pankshin and Qua’an-Pan local government areas were also present at the occasion.
