Today, Thursday 1st February 2024, the Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, received a delegation from the PDP Governors’ Forum at the New Government House, Little Rayfield Jos. The visit aimed to express condolences and solidarity with Governor Mutfwang following recent security breaches in the state.
Led by Senator Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, the delegation included Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State, Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah of Enugu State, Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State, Governor Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke of Osun State, and the Director-General of the PDP Forum, Hon. C.T.O Maduabum.
During the visit, the PDP Governors announced a donation of 100 million naira to aid Governor Mutfwang in providing rehabilitation support to victims of the recent attacks across Plateau State.
Senator Bala Mohammed expressed heartfelt condolences to Governor Mutfwang and the people of Plateau State, emphasizing the unfortunate nature of the crisis. He urged Governor Mutfwang to remain focused amidst the challenges and assured him of the PDP Governors’ unwavering support.
The visit underscored solidarity with the government and people of Plateau State in the wake of recent crises in Mangu and Bokkos LGAs and surrounding areas. Senator Mohammed reiterated the PDP Governors’ commitment to advocating for the establishment of State Police to address security challenges effectively.
In response, Governor Caleb Mutfwang thanked his colleagues for their support and assured them of his commitment to restoring peace and stability in Plateau State. He emphasized the importance of unity among the people and affirmed his dedication to delivering democratic dividends to Plateau residents.
“As governor, I believe in the unity of our people. If we rebuild trust and address criminality uniformly, we can overcome these challenges,” Governor Mutfwang affirmed, highlighting the significance of the PDP’s role in Plateau and Nigeria as a whole.
