On February 6, 2024, Plateau State Microfinance Development Agency (PLASMIDA) hosted a notable visit from Svenja Schulze, the German Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development, alongside Dr. Barbel Kofler, the German Parliamentary Secretary. The visit aimed to bolster bilateral ties between the German Government and Plateau State, with a focus on enhancing economic development and initiatives for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
Mr. Bomkam Ali Wuyep, the Director General of PLASMIDA, warmly welcomed the esteemed guests and expressed gratitude for their visit. He highlighted the agency’s dedication to empowering MSMEs in Plateau State and acknowledged the continuous support from the Executive Governor, Barr. Calab Manasseh Mutfwang, towards MSME development. Mr. Wuyep also emphasized the contributions of German Cooperation in capacity building, institutional strengthening, and MSME development, citing impactful partnerships with organizations such as the Norwegian Refugee Council and ZIVA World Foundation.
Minister Schulze commended PLASMIDA for its steadfast commitment to supporting MSMEs and fostering entrepreneurship in Plateau State. A variety of MSMEs showcased their products and services at the Plateau Job Centre during the visit.
