In a bid to address the escalating violence and unrest in the region, the Church on the Plateau, guided by Church Denominational Leaders and the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Plateau State, is set to organize a Peace Walk. All Christians in the area are urged to join in this collective effort to promote peace and unity.
Event Details:
– Date: Monday, January 8th, 2024
– Time: 9:00 am
– Attire: All participants are requested to wear black attire as a symbol of mourning, both during Sunday church services and throughout the Peace Walk on Monday.
The gathering point for the Peace Walk is the PRTV Roundabout Junction, where Christians will assemble before embarking on a solemn march to the New Government House in Little Rayfield. The objective is to present the collective concerns of the Christian community to the Governor and express shared grief, while fervently calling for an end to the persistent killings on the Plateau and across Nigeria.
This initiative reflects the unity and resolve of the Church to stand together against the challenges plaguing the region, fostering a spirit of peace and solidarity among the people of God.
