In a heartfelt response to the unfortunate incident at Government College Pankshin, the Pankshin Old Boys Association (POBA), led by National President Mr. Kenzy Ngupar, has extended their condolences to the school community. The Physics, Chemistry, and Biology Laboratories of Government College Pankshin were tragically engulfed in flames on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, causing substantial damage and distress.
Expressing profound sorrow, Mr. Ngupar and the entire POBA executive team acknowledged the significant economic loss, discomfort, and trauma inflicted upon the school management and students by the fire disaster. Despite the severity of the incident, they expressed gratitude that no lives were lost in the inferno.
In a statement Signed by Pam Musa, POBA National Publicity Secretary, the leadership views this event as a substantial setback for the renowned Government College Pankshin (GCP) and emphasizes the importance of immediate intervention. They earnestly appealed to the Plateau State Government to step in and support the school in the rebuilding and equipping of the science laboratories.
Highlighting the crucial role laboratories play in shaping the educational future of students, particularly those in the science disciplines, former students stressed the need for swift action to restore these facilities.
