The Plateau Peace Media Network (PPMN) has strongly condemned the heinous attacks that unfolded on the night of December 24, 2023, in remote villages across Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi Local Government Areas of Plateau State. The Plateau Peace Media Network, dedicated to promoting peace and harmony in the region, expressed deep sadness at the barbaric assaults carried out by unidentified assailants, resulting in widespread destruction and a tragic loss of lives.

Condemning the violence in the strongest terms, the Plateau Peace Media Network underscores the immense hardship endured by the communities of Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi. The organization calls for calm and urges a swift response from Commissioner of Police, Plateau State Command, CP Okoro J. Alawari. Additionally, the PPMN recommends immediate measures to prevent further carnage and advocates for intensified security in the affected areas.
Commending the relocation of the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations (DC DOPs) to Bokkos LGA, the Plateau Peace Media Network implores security forces to remain vigilant in the face of ongoing threats.
Disturbing findings from the assessment conducted by the Police in Plateau State reveal a total of twelve (12) villages attacked, with two hundred and twenty-one (221) houses set ablaze, twenty-seven (27) motorcycles burnt, eight (8) motor-vehicles destroyed, and a heartbreaking loss of over seventy-nine (79) lives from Barkin-Ladi and Bokkos Local Government Areas.
