Two Arrested Over Alleged Murder of UNIJOS Student

The Plateau State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of two suspects in connection with the alleged murder of a 29-year-old University of Jos student, Daniel Umar Izang.

Izang was found lifeless on August 2, 2025, at Rusau Village Hostel, near the university’s permanent site. Friends rushed him to Asibiti Clinic opposite the campus, where a medical doctor pronounced him dead.

According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the university’s Chief Security Officer, Mr. Agama Tangur, reported the incident to the police on August 4.

Preliminary investigations revealed signs of violence on the victim’s body, pointing to possible foul play. Following a visit to the scene, security operatives arrested two suspects identified as Moses Joel and Naanmang Kadaura, both 25 years old.

The victim’s remains have been deposited at the Plateau Specialists Hospital morgue for autopsy, while investigations continue.
