Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has condemned Russia over a series of recent attacks on Ukraine, stating that his country is fighting for the “normal and safe life it deserves.”
In a post on X on Monday, Zelenskyy shared a video showing widespread destruction caused by Russian strikes in recent days.
He revealed that in the past week alone, Russia has launched over 1,050 strike drones, nearly 1,300 aerial bombs, and more than 20 missiles targeting Ukrainian cities and civilians.
He added that strengthening Ukraine’s air defences and supporting its army will “make it impossible for Russian aggression to return”.
“Ukraine is fighting for the normal and safe life it deserves, for a just and reliable peace.
“We want this war to end. But Russia does not, and continues its aerial terror: over the past week, more than 1,050 attack drones, nearly 1,300 aerial bombs, and more than 20 missiles have been launched at Ukraine to destroy cities and kill people.
“Those who seek negotiations don’t deliberately strike civilians with ballistic missiles.
“To force Russia to stop its attacks, we need greater collective strength from the world,” Zelenskyy tweeted alongside a video showing damage caused by Russian attacks on Ukraine.
This is coming after Zelenskyy held talks with other world leaders at a London summit hosted by Sir Keir Starmer at the weekend.
