The Zamfara State Government has commenced a statewide campaign to combat malaria through the distribution of insecticide-treated mosquito nets to residents.
The initiative is aimed at reducing malaria infections and protecting vulnerable residents from mosquito-borne diseases across the state.
The campaign forms part of ongoing efforts by health authorities and development partners to strengthen malaria prevention in Zamfara. The state has previously conducted large-scale mosquito-net distribution campaigns as part of its malaria-control programmes.
The latest intervention comes as health authorities continue to promote the use of insecticide-treated nets as an important tool for preventing malaria transmission.
Residents are expected to use the nets properly and consistently, particularly at night, to maximise their protective benefits.
The campaign is also expected to complement other malaria-control measures, including seasonal malaria prevention and community health interventions across Zamfara.
