A female farmer has been injured after she was allegedly attacked by suspected herders at Josho village in Daffo District of Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The incident reportedly occurred at about 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, following a dispute after the farmer, identified as Mrs Sarah Luka, resisted cattle grazing on her farmland.
According to a security report, troops of Sector 5, Operation ENDURING PEACE (OPEP), responded to a distress call concerning the attack.
The troops reportedly found Luka injured at the scene, while the suspected attackers had fled before their arrival.
She was subsequently evacuated to a hospital for medical treatment.
Security personnel have commenced efforts to locate and apprehend the fleeing suspects for further investigation and possible prosecution.
The incident comes amid continuing concerns over clashes between farmers and herders in parts of Plateau State, particularly over access to farmland and grazing activities.
