Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has revealed that he wants fellow artist Asake to perform at his wedding.
Wizkid made the disclosure during a recent appearance on Apple Music Radio alongside DJ Tunez, where he praised Asake’s talent and vocal ability.
The Starboy boss said he became a fan of Asake after hearing the hit track “Omo Ope”, but singled out “Remember” as his favourite song, which he would like performed at his wedding.
He described Asake as “one of the most talented vocalists in Africa and the world” and called him “a blessing to African music.”
Wizkid said:
“‘Omo Ope’ made me an Asake fan from the first listen. But my favourite Asake song is ‘Remember’. I think you have to play that one on my wedding day. It is an amazing record.
“You [Asake] are amazing. You have one of the most special voices from Africa and in the world. I have told you that like a million times and I am saying it again on radio. You are a blessing to African music.”
Wizkid is currently in a romantic relationship with his third baby mama and manager, Japa P, with whom he has three children—two boys and a girl. Fans have long anticipated his wedding, which he has teased for several years.
