Evangelist Daniel Du Toit, a Cape Town–based preacher and founder of Take the Nations, has arrived in Jos, Plateau State, ahead of the Jos Jesus Crusade scheduled to hold from December 17 to 21, 2025.

Addressing journalists on arrival, Du Toit said the crusade is focused on lifting the name of Jesus over Jos and Plateau State, stressing that the gospel remains the power of God for salvation, healing, and transformation.

“The Bible says that when Jesus is lifted up, He will draw all men to Himself. Our message to the people of Jos is Jesus,” he said.

Explaining why Jos was chosen for the outreach, the evangelist said he believes the city and Plateau State are positioned for a great spiritual revival and harvest, despite recent challenges in the region and across Nigeria.

“There have been many things happening in Plateau State and in Nigeria, but I truly believe it is because of the great revival and harvest that must come to Jos and the rest of the country,” Du Toit stated.

Describing himself as an African evangelist, Du Toit said his mission is rooted in his love for the continent and its people.

“I may look white on the outside, but I am African. I am from Cape Town, South Africa, and my heart is to see Africa come to Jesus,” he said.

He expressed confidence that the five-day crusade would record testimonies of salvation, miracles, and deliverance, adding that the focus of the outreach is solely on Christ.

“When we lift Him up, miracles will take place. Deliverance will take place, and I believe Jos will never be the same,” he added.

Du Toit also commended the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Plateau State chapter, for partnering with Take the Nations to host the crusade, describing the initiative as a collective effort by the Christian body in the state.

“I’m grateful to CAN for taking hands with us. This is their campaign, and we are simply here to support the harvest and preach the gospel,” he said, citing Apostle Paul’s declaration that the gospel is the power of God unto salvation.

Speaking on the significance of the crusade holding in December, Du Toit noted that the season draws attention to the birth of Jesus Christ, making it a fitting period for the outreach.

“Even people of different faiths say ‘Merry Christmas,’ which points to the birth of our Saviour. All eyes should be on Jesus, and that’s why we are here,” he said.

The evangelist further appreciated the Plateau State Government and residents for welcoming the crusade, assuring that adequate security arrangements are in place in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.

“God cares about the government, the leaders, and the people. God loves this city and this country, and that’s why we are here — for people to experience the love of God,” Du Toit said.

The Jos Jesus Crusade is expected to attract thousands of worshippers from within and outside Plateau State during the five-night outreach.
