The National Sports Commission (NSC) has announced a financial incentive of $5,000 for every goal scored by the Super Falcons during the group stage of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

According to Daily Post, NSC Chairman Shehu Dikko unveiled the incentive on Tuesday during a visit to the Super Falcons’ camp at the Marriott Hotel in Rabat, Morocco.

The initiative is aimed at motivating the defending champions as they begin their quest to retain the WAFCON title.

Under the incentive package, the Super Falcons will earn $5,000 for each goal scored in the group stage, with reports indicating that the reward will increase if the team advances to the knockout rounds of the tournament.

The announcement comes ahead of Nigeria’s opening Group B fixture against Malawi at the Al Madina Stadium in Rabat.

The encounter will mark the first-ever senior international meeting between the Super Falcons and the Scorchers of Malawi.

Nigeria enters the tournament as the most successful team in WAFCON history and will be seeking another continental title under head coach Justine Madugu.
