Nigerian international Victor Osimhen has officially joined Turkish champions Galatasaray SK from Italian side Napoli in a blockbuster deal worth €75 million.

The Istanbul-based club confirmed the signing on Thursday, July 31, via its official social media platforms, announcing a full agreement with Napoli, including a 10% sell-on clause that guarantees the Italian club a portion of any profit from Osimhen’s future transfer.

Osimhen, 26, has signed a four-year contract beginning with the 2025–2026 season. Under the terms of the deal, the Super Eagles striker will earn a net annual salary of €15 million, alongside a €1 million loyalty bonus and €5 million in image rights per season.

“Professional football player Victor James Osimhen has been transferred following an agreement reached with his former club, SSC Napoli,” Galatasaray wrote in an official statement.

“A net transfer fee of €75 million will be paid. Additionally, 10% of the profit from the player’s future sale will be paid to Napoli. A four-year contract has been signed with the player, effective from the 2025–2026 season.”

Osimhen arrives at Galatasaray following a highly successful loan spell last season, during which he played a pivotal role in helping the club secure both the Turkish Super Lig title and the Turkish Cup.

The former Lille forward touched down in Istanbul on Wednesday, July 30, to a thunderous welcome, as thousands of Galatasaray fans gathered at the airport to greet their new marquee signing.

Osimhen’s transfer marks the end of a historic chapter at Napoli, where he became a fan favorite after leading the club to their first Serie A title in over three decades during the 2022–2023 campaign.

The move to Galatasaray signals a new chapter for the prolific striker, who now becomes one of the highest-paid players in Turkish football history.
