Mrs. Priestba Anthony-Wokocha, a journalist based in Port Harcourt, who was kidnapped by unknown gunmen last week, has been released.
According to a family source who disclosed the development to Today FM, a radio station in Port Harcourt, Mrs. Anthony-Wokocha, the Director of News at Rivers State Broadcasting Corporation, was freed by her abductors last night.
The family member, however, said it is unclear whether any ransom was paid before her release.
In the meantime, the Rivers State Police Command is yet to confirm the development to journalists.
DAILY POST reports that the kidnappers had initially contacted the family of Mrs Anthony-Wokocha, to pay the sum of N150m for her release and later reduced the amount to N10m.
Anthony-Wokocha was kidnapped at gunpoint on her way from work last week at about 8pm, after her vehicle developed a fault.
