On Tuesday morning, suspected gunmen numbering about five stormed Gegu
Beki police station in Kogi Local Government. firing and killing two
police men.
Two police men on duty identified simply as Jacob and
Akile, were killed in the attack.
Also killed in the incident was a detained suspect who was arrested for failing to produce a suspect he bailed.
An eyewitness disclosed that the rifles of the policemen were taken away by the gunmen.
As the time this report was filed, the corpses of those killed have
been taken to the Federal Medical Center, Lokoja by men of the Federal
Road Safety Corps (FRSC).
The eyewitness disclosed that the incident occurred at about 2:15 am of Tuesday morning.
