The University of Jos has elected a Vice Chancellor, He is Prof. Maimako Seddi Sebastian to take over from Heyward Mafuyain.
He is Dean of Management Science.
The race for
the position of the office of the Vice Chancellor university of Jos started sometimes back, it was
open for qualified candidates. Having
a total of 42 applicants pruned down to 19 whose letters of invitation
for interview were dispatched. After all screening and electoral process, Prof. Maimako Seddi Sebastian emerged the winner.
The Chancellor also expressed gratitude to President Buhari for giving
him another opportunity to serve as the Chancellor of Unijos. He pledged
to help ‘’reinforce existing development efforts of the university
senate and council in the pursuit of the lofty goals, objectives, vision
and mission that constitute the founding philosophy of the
university.”
He is set to resume office on the 23rd of June, 2016.
