Brazilian UFC flyweight Allan Nascimento has died at the age of 34 after reportedly suffering an apparent heart attack in his sleep.
The news comes just six weeks after his most recent bout, a split-decision loss to Mitch Raposo at UFC Vegas 119 in Las Vegas on June 20.
In a statement, the UFC announced the fighter’s passing, saying:
“This morning, Monday, August 3rd, our beloved flyweight fighter, Allan Nascimento, was found unresponsive after suffering an apparent heart attack in his sleep.
“Despite the efforts of the responding medical team, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
“Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Allan’s family, friends, teammates, and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.”
The promotion accompanied the statement with a black-and-white photograph of Nascimento smiling while wearing a UFC glove.
Born in São Paulo, Brazil, Nascimento built a successful mixed martial arts career, winning 17 of his first 22 professional fights.
Before joining the UFC, he competed in several organisations, including RIZIN, Legacy Fighting Alliance (formerly Legacy FC), and Dana White’s Contender Series.
Nascimento signed with the UFC in 2021 and recorded four victories in six appearances inside the Octagon.
He ends his professional MMA career with a record of 22 wins and seven losses.
