Former heavyweight champions Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua will finally meet in the ring on December 11, 2026, with their long-awaited showdown set to take place at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales.
The all-British heavyweight clash was officially confirmed on Thursday, September 24, following months of negotiations over the date and venue.
The fight will be streamed globally on Netflix, while the event is being promoted by The Ring, owned by Saudi boxing power broker Turki Alalshikh, in collaboration with Zuffa Boxing president Dana White.
Fury and Joshua have been linked with a potential fight for more than a decade, but several attempts to arrange the bout previously fell through. The two fighters have never faced each other professionally.
The choice of Cardiff followed lengthy discussions over where the fight should be held. Joshua had pushed for the contest to take place in the United Kingdom, while other locations, including venues in the United States, had reportedly been considered.
The Principality Stadium, which can accommodate more than 70,000 spectators and has a retractable roof, was eventually selected as the venue.
Both fighters are former world heavyweight champions and enter the contest with a combined 66 professional victories and 52 knockouts, according to event promoter Dana White.
Fury most recently defeated Arslanbek Makhmudov by unanimous decision in April, while Joshua’s most recent bout was a victory over Kristian Prenga in July, according to reports.
The fighters are expected to begin the formal build-up to the bout with a joint press conference scheduled for September 30 in London.
The exact fight-night start time has not yet been announced, although organisers are reportedly considering a late UK start to accommodate viewers in the United States.
