Troops of Operation HADIN KAI, working alongside local vigilantes and hunters, have killed a senior Boko Haram commander and arrested a suspected drone and logistics supplier during separate operations in Adamawa State’s Madagali Local Government Area.

At about 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 19, 2026, troops engaged suspected Boko Haram fighters in an ambush along the Visik River line, resulting in the neutralisation of Abdullahi Mafa, a former hybrid commander in Madagali.

In a follow-up raid at Madagali Motor Park around 6:30 p.m., security forces arrested 64-year-old Dauda Usman Gubula, identified as a suspected Boko Haram collaborator and drone supplier. Recovered items included two aerial drones and 20 solar power banks.

The suspect is currently in custody and undergoing investigation, while troops continue to intensify operations aimed at dismantling Boko Haram networks and restoring security across the region.
