Transgender Laverne Cox goes topless as she channels Janet Jackson for Janet Jackson Appreciation Day

Social media users celebrated Janet Jackson Appreciation Day on Super
Bowl Sunday and Laverne Cox, a massive Janet fan, went all out.

The 46-year-old transgender actress was naked from the waist upwards
with two hands covering her nipples as she recreated Janet Jackson’s
iconic 1993 Rolling Stone’s cover.

Sharing the post on Instagram on Sunday night, Laverne wrote:

There’s only 1 @janetjacksonbut on this
#JanetJacksonAppreciationDay#ThrowBack to my tribute to her iconic
@rollingstone cover for @cosmopolitan magazine from Oct. 2016.

We love you Janet!

The idea for Janet Jackson Appreciation Day began in 2018 as a way to
show support for Janet after her career was nearly derailed when Justin
Timberlake accidentally exposed her breast on stage during her 2004
Super Bowl performance while Justin’s career was left untouched.

Justin Timberlake was invited to headline the halftime show at Super
Bowl 52 last year, whereas, Janet was banned and has never been
asked back to perform at the Super Bowl after the incident.

So, as Justin prepared for his show at the Super Bowl in 2018, fans
took to Twitter to pay tribute to Janet by making the
hashtag #JanetJacksonAppreciationDay trend. Janet’s fans continued with
the trend this year.
