Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has been sued over an alleged deliverance session she conducted on a teenage girl within a school premises in Abuja.

The actress was slammed with a N200 million lawsuit at the High Court in Abuja by human rights lawyer Ikechukwu Obasi.

Obasi, who filed the suit on behalf of a Junior Secondary School (JSS 1) student from Rivers State, alleged that the girl was subjected to what he described as a harmful religious ritual during the incident. He also claimed that footage of the session was later shared online.

According to the lawyer, the circulation of the video without the consent of the minor violated her privacy rights under Section 37 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Child Rights Act 2003.

In the suit, Obasi is seeking N200 million in damages, a public apology, and the removal of the video from all social media platforms. He also asked the court to declare the act a violation of the girl’s constitutional rights to dignity and personal privacy.

The development follows a video earlier shared online by Dikeh showing her performing what appeared to be a spiritual deliverance on a schoolgirl during a visit to a secondary school in Durumi II area of Abuja.
