President Bola Tinubu has sworn in Joash Amupitan as the new Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The brief ceremony took place on Thursday at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, with Amupitan dressed in a white agbada paired with a gold cap.
His appointment follows the expiration of the tenure of former INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu.
During his screening, Amupitan stated that his primary goal is to build an electoral system where losers will willingly congratulate winners after elections, reflecting a process of integrity and transparency.
