Tinubu Arrives Paris as European Vacation Continues

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Paris, France, as he continues his three-week annual leave in Europe.

Tinubu arrived in the French capital on Sunday, September 13, 2026, for the second leg of his vacation after spending the initial part of his leave in London, United Kingdom.

The President was received in Paris by Nigeria’s Ambassador to France, Ayodele Oke.

Tinubu departed Abuja on August 30, 2026, to begin his three-week annual leave. In a statement announcing the trip, his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, said the President’s first destination would be London.

The Presidency described the trip as a “working vacation” and said Tinubu was expected to return to Nigeria at the end of the leave to resume his official responsibilities and join preparations for the January 2027 general election.

The President’s vacation has attracted reactions from some opposition figures, with critics questioning the timing of the trip amid ongoing economic and security challenges in the country.

However, the Presidency has maintained that the European trip is part of Tinubu’s annual leave and includes working engagements.

Tinubu is expected to return to Nigeria at the end of the three-week vacation.
