President Bola Tinubu has appointed Dr. Bernard Mohammed Doro as Nigeria’s new Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction.
The appointment follows the elevation of the former minister, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga announced the development in a statement on Tuesday, noting that the appointment is subject to confirmation by the Senate. He added that the President has already forwarded Doro’s nomination details to the upper legislative chamber for consideration.
Born on January 23, 1969, in Kwall, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State, Dr. Doro brings over 20 years of multidisciplinary experience spanning clinical practice, pharmaceutical management, strategic leadership, and community engagement in both the United Kingdom and Nigeria.
The appointment comes as part of President Tinubu’s ongoing efforts to strengthen governance and sustain key social intervention initiatives aimed at tackling poverty and improving humanitarian response across the country.
