Popular Nigerian skit maker and content creator, Oderhowho Joseph Efe, better known as Carter Efe, has lost his official TikTok account after the platform permanently banned it for repeated violations of its community guidelines.
The ban was confirmed on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, with TikTok citing multiple breaches of its platform policies. However, the platform has not publicly disclosed the specific violations that led to the permanent removal of the account.
Before it was taken down, Carter Efe’s account had amassed more than 5.6 million followers and over 158 million likes. The page served as one of his major platforms for sharing comedy skits, promoting music and interacting with fans through live broadcasts.
The development has generated reactions among fans and social media users, with some expressing surprise over the removal of an account with such a large following.
The latest ban is not Carter Efe’s first experience with losing a TikTok account. In June 2025, the platform removed another account belonging to the entertainer, which had about 3.5 million followers at the time. That action followed controversy over comments he made about singer Wizkid during a livestream, after which Carter Efe apologised and later returned to the platform.
Carter Efe subsequently rebuilt his TikTok audience, eventually growing his replacement account to more than 5.6 million followers before its latest permanent removal.
Despite losing his TikTok account, the content creator remains active on other social media platforms and has also established a presence as a live streamer on Twitch.
The incident highlights the risks faced by digital creators who depend heavily on third-party platforms, where accounts can be suspended or permanently removed when platforms determine that their rules have been violated.
