Ghanaian actress and fashion personality Nana Akua Addo has broken her silence following the circulation of videos purportedly showing her and her children involved in a domestic dispute.
In a statement issued through her lawyers, Nkrabeah & Associates, the actress said the videos were leaked without her knowledge or consent, describing their circulation as a serious violation of her privacy and that of her children, who are minors.
Her legal team appealed to media organizations and members of the public to stop publishing, sharing or further circulating the footage, particularly videos involving the children. The lawyers said the family was already dealing with significant trauma and urged the public to protect the wellbeing and privacy of the minors.
The lawyers also confirmed that the matter is currently before the appropriate authorities and that the Ghana Police Service is investigating the reported incident. They expressed confidence in the justice system and said Nana Akua Addo would address the issues in detail when the time is appropriate.
The statement follows the emergence of videos showing Nana Akua Addo with visible injuries, as well as separate footage purportedly involving one of her children. The circumstances surrounding the incidents remain under investigation. Ghana’s Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection has also said it is monitoring the situation and urged the public not to share graphic footage or unverified claims concerning the actress and her child.
The development has generated widespread reactions on social media, while the actress’s legal team has urged the public to respect the family’s privacy as the authorities handle the matter.
